Nevro believes that both healthcare professionals and patients benefit from a wide variety of educational and procedural training opportunities, and independent medical research that support advancements in medical technology. Nevro is proud to be able to provide grants to support educational activities and independent research that help healthcare professionals enhance the care of their patients. We prioritize support in areas of scientific interest to the company that are intended to contribute to improvement in healthcare provider knowledge.

Every grant we award is based on (1) the merit of the educational program or independent research, as described in the submission; and (2) its alignment with Nevro’s educational, business and research interests and internal company policies. All grants are provided in compliance with the applicable published codes that are standard industry practices (e.g. AdvaMed, MedTech, MTAA) and our internal policies.

Grant Eligibility Guidelines

To be eligible, requests must be directed to support training and education for healthcare providers or patients, clinical research or scientific conferences focused on chronic pain management and spinal cord stimulation therapy.

All grant requests must be submitted by an authorized representative of an eligible organization. Nevro will not accept grant requests from, nor make direct payments to, any individual healthcare provider. For continuing education programs, payment will be made to the accredited body unless otherwise specified in writing.

To receive consideration, requests should be submitted at least 30 days prior to the start of the program. Submission of a grant request does not guarantee approval or support for the entire amount requested (or any portion thereof). All approved grant requests must be documented in a fully-executed, written agreement before any award is due and payable.

No award is determined or influenced by the volume, or value of any business that could be potentially generated by the grant requester. The grant requester is not obligated to purchase, use, recommend, or arrange for the use of any product or service of Nevro.

How to Apply

Note: Commercial personnel may not assist in the application process outside of informing requestors about the program and where to find an application.

  • Educational Event Grants. This application must come from a training institution or conference organizer to defray costs of educational components of a program, cover reasonable costs of faculty members, and for modest meals, refreshments and educational items. These programs must be bona fide educational events consistent with applicable industry codes and accreditation standards. Funding may not be tied to promotion of commercial interests. In-kind support may also be requested consistent with Nevro’s internal policies. The funds cannot be used for the support of entertainment, recreation or any expenses related to attendee guests.
  • Travel Grant. This application must come from a training institution or conference organizer interested in supporting the costs of healthcare providers-in-training (i.e., students, residents and fellows) to attend an educational conference up to a maximum of US$1,500 per attendee. Travel grants are not available for healthcare providers. The institution or organization shall determine the selection of participants to the educational event and no potential individual recipients should be disclosed in the request or associated communications. Additionally, the events must be consistent with applicable industry codes and accreditation standards. Nevro has a limited budget to support these travel grant requests and funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Investigator Initiated Study Support. This application must come from an institution seeking support for a clinical study in the neuromodulation field. This may include in-kind and/or financial support. In general, the applicant/investigator determines the protocol and executes the study independently. A detailed budget must be provided, however Nevro reserves sole discretion to decide if to support, and how much support will be provided. All requests for financial funding must be consistent with Fair Market Value, shall not consist of indirect expenses like salaries or staff benefits, and will not be subject to any institutional overhead costs.
  • Commercial Sponsorship. Unlike a grant, a sponsorship request seeks payment or in-kind support in exchange for equivalently-valued advertising or promotional opportunities for Nevro. For example: A Bronze level contributor who pays $x will receive an acknowledgment in the program, a table at the exhibition hall, and two passes to the conference. If your program offers both grant and commercial sponsorship elements for a single event, these opportunities must be communicated separately via a grant application (for the grant request) and sponsorship request (via Marketing).

Disclaimer

We receive many worthwhile requests for product donations. Unfortunately, we are unable to fund them all. It is important to note that past funding does not guarantee future approval. Requestors will receive an email notification of approval or denial after the Patient Assistance Review Committee has made its decisions.

The US Physician Payment Sunshine Act requires all medical device manufacturers, including Nevro, to report annually to the US government on payments and transfers of value made to US physicians and teaching hospitals. This includes charitable donations. Many countries have similar transparency laws.
