Kevin Thornal was named CEO and President of Nevro in April of 2023. He will also be appointed to the Nevro Board of Directors. Mr. Thornal has over 20 years of senior management experience, including nearly nine years at Hologic, Inc., where he most recently served as Group President, Global Diagnostic Solutions, since April 2022. Under Kevin\u2019s leadership, this group of businesses delivered above-market revenue growth rates, achieving about $2.9 billion in worldwide diagnostics sales including the impact of COVID testing revenue. Mr. Thornal joined Hologic in 2014 as Vice President, Customer Experience, Field Service and Clinical Applications for the Breast and Skeletal Health division. He transitioned to Vice President, Breast and Skeletal Health for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region in early 2016, and was promoted to President, Medical Aesthetics in July 2017. In July 2019, he was promoted to President, Diagnostic Solutions where he led the division during the COVID-19 pandemic, rapidly launching three highly accurate molecular diagnostic COVID-19 tests in the fight against the global pandemic, and leading multiple acquisitions. Prior to Hologic, he held various roles of increasing responsibility at Stryker from 2004 to 2014 in sales, marketing, and business development. Mr. Thornal received a B.A. in History, with minors in English and Secondary Education, from Southern Methodist University.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

Rod MacLeod was appointed Chief Financial Officer in June of 2020. Mr. MacLeod joins Nevro with more than 25 years of experience in financial and executive leadership roles in healthcare and technology. Most recently he served as Vice President of Finance of Stryker Endoscopy, a division of Stryker Corp that develops and manufactures medical devices used in minimally invasive surgical procedures. During his 16-year career at Stryker Endoscopy, Mr. MacLeod played a key role in growing the division from $500 million to $1.8 billion in revenue. Prior to this role, Mr. MacLeod was Controller for Stryker Endoscopy. Previously, Mr. MacLeod was Vice President of Finance and Administration at Lumenare Networks, a Sunnyvale-based software company. Earlier in his career, Mr. MacLeod was Financial Manager\/Controller at United Airlines and was a Senior Operational and Audit Consultant at Arthur Andersen & Co. Rod MacLeod graduated from the J.L. David Caraway, MD, PhD joined Nevro in 2014 and serves as Nevro\u2019s Chief Medical Officer. Prior to joining Nevro, Dr. Caraway was the CEO of The Center for Pain Relief, Tri-State, L.L.C., in partnership with St. Mary\u2019s Regional Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Caraway has maintained an active medical practice for over 20 years and has held leadership positions in the North American Neuromodulation and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. As a nationally recognized expert in the treatment of chronic pain, he has lectured regionally, nationally, and internationally in the field of Interventional Pain Medicine and authored numerous publications in this field. Dr. Caraway received a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia School of Engineering, an MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and a PhD in Biophysics from the University of Virginia Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. He also received post-graduate training in Anesthesiology and Pain Management from the University of Virginia. Christofer Christoforou joined Nevro in 2016 and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in May 2024. In this role, Mr. Christoforou is responsible for leading Nevro\u2019s manufacturing processes; research, development and innovation efforts; spearheading the integration of the company\u2019s November 2023 acquisition of Vyrsa\u2122 Technologies; and oversight of clinical and regulatory affairs and quality assurance. Prior to his current role, he served as Senior Vice President, Technical Operations at Nevro.<\/p>\n

Before joining Nevro, Mr. Christoforou served as Vice President, Quality Engineering at Thoratec Corporation, a medical device company that made lifesaving Left Ventricular Assist Devices, where he oversaw the operational, design and supplier quality engineering functions. From October 1999 to December 2014, he served in several leadership positions of increasing levels of responsibility at Thoratec. From April 1993 to October 1999, Mr. Christoforou served as a Manager of Engineering and various Engineering positions for United States Surgical Corporation, a pioneer in laparoscopic surgery.<\/p>\n

Kashif Rashid joined Nevro in 2017 and serves as General Counsel of the company. Mr. Rashid has over 20 years of broad legal experience, with a particular focus in medical devices and healthcare. Mr. Rashid previously served as Deputy General Counsel at St. Jude Medical, a medical device company, where he had responsibility for various aspects of the legal function, including commercial, business development and corporate governance and securities. Following the acquisition of St. Jude Medical by Abbott, Mr. Rashid moved to Atara Biotherapeutics, a bay-area biotech focused on T-cell immunotherapy, as Vice President, Legal. Prior to St. Jude Medical, Mr. Rashid served in roles of increasing responsibility at General Electric’s Healthcare business, Loews Corporation and Kaye Scholer, LLP. Greg Siller was named SVP and Chief Commercial Officer of Nevro in June of 2023. Mr. Siller is an accomplished commercial leader with significant senior management experience, including the last 17 years at Stryker, where he held several positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing. He most recently served as Vice President and General Manager of the Stryker Interventional Spine business since January 2020. Under Mr. Siller\u2019s leadership, this business had strong double-digit sales growth, and he led the strategy to increase R&D investments in the pain and oncology markets to accelerate long-term growth. Prior to that position, Mr. Siller was Senior Director of Sales at Stryker\u2019s Surgical Technologies business from January 2019 to December 2019, where he was responsible for sales that were growing at over twice the market growth rate. He was also part of the core team that successfully divided the Surgical division into two successful business units. Peter Socarras joined Nevro in 2012 and serves as Nevro’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Socarras has over 20 years of legal and medical device experience, having started his legal careers as a Patent Agent at Cordis Neurovascular. Prior to joining Nevro, Mr. Socarras specialized in intellectual property law and spent several years working at the law firms of Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox PLLC and Bozicevic, Field & Francis LLP. Angie McCabe has more than 25 years of experience in investor relations and corporate communications leadership roles, with nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare. She joined Nevro in December 2023 leading the development and execution of Nevro\u2019s global corporate communications strategy, engaging with media, investors and analysts regarding the company\u2019s strategy, business model, financial performance and environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. Prior to joining Nevro, she served as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations for National Vision, Inc., the second largest optical retail company in the U.S. Previously, Ms. McCabe held leadership positions in investor relations and corporate communications at well-known healthcare companies including Premier Inc., WellCare Health Plans (acquired by Centene Corp.), Health Net (acquired by Centene) and WellPoint Health Networks (merged with Anthem, Inc., now Elevance Health, Inc.) \u2013 all managed care companies. Earlier in her IR career, she held IR and corporate communications positions at Applied Materials and Lockheed Martin Corp.<\/p>\n

Ms. McCabe holds a B.A. in History from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and an Investor Relations Charter\u2122 (IRC) credential. She is an active member in NIRI, the professional association of corporate officers and investor relations consultants, and served as a director on NIRI\u2019s national board from 2013 to 2017. D. Keith Grossman joined us in March 2019 and served as our CEO and President from March 2019 to April 2023. Following his retirement as Chief Executive Officer and President, he was appointed to serve as Executive Chairman of the Board of Nevro, then in October of 2023 transitioned to the role of Non-Executive Chairman of the Board. Mr. Grossman has over 35 years of experience in the medical device field. Prior to Nevro, he was named President, CEO and Director of Thoratec Corp. for the second time in 2014, leading up to its 2015 sale to St. Jude Medical. Prior to Thoratec, he served as President, CEO and director of Conceptus, a women\u2019s health medical device company, leading up to its sale to Bayer Healthcare. Prior to Conceptus, Mr. Grossman served as managing director of TPG (Texas Pacific Group), a private equity firm, as a member of its healthcare investment team. Prior to TPG, Mr. Grossman served as Thoratec\u2019s President, CEO and director for the first ten years of its growth as a commercial company. Mr. Grossman currently serves as Vice Chairman of Alcon, Inc. and as Lead Independent Director of Outset Medical, Inc. and previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of Intuitive Surgical, Inc., Kyphon, Inc., ViewRay, Inc., Zeltiq, Inc and a number of privately held medical device companies. Michael DeMane joined us in March 2011 and has served as our Chief Executive Officer and as Executive Chairman. Effective January 1, 2017, Mr. DeMane transitioned to non-executive Chairman of the Board. Mr. DeMane has served on the board of directors of several private companies since 2009, as well as on the board of directors of eResearch Technology, Inc., a public company specializing in contract research clinical services, from July 2008 to April 2012. From March 2009 to June 2010, Mr. DeMane served as a Senior Advisor to Thomas, McNerney & Partners, a healthcare venture firm. Mr. DeMane served as the Chief Operating Officer of Medtronic from August 2007 to April 2008. Prior to his COO role, Mr. DeMane served at Medtronic as Senior Vice President from May 2007 to August 2007, Senior Vice President and President: Europe, Canada, Latin America and Emerging Markets from August 2005 to May 2007, Senior Vice President and President: Spinal, ENT and Navigation from February 2002 to August 2005, and President, Spinal from January 2000 to February 2002. Kirt Karros was appointed to Nevro\u2019s Board of Directors in February 2024. He is an accomplished finance executive with extensive experience in finance, including capital allocation and financial planning and analysis, as well as strategic planning, risk management, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), investment management and investor relations. Since November 2015, Mr. Karros has served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Treasurer of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and previously served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Treasurer as well as Head of Investor Relations for HPE and Hewlett Packard Company. Prior to joining Hewlett Packard Company, he was a Principal and Managing Director of Research at Relational Investors LLC and a member of the firm\u2019s investment committee. Previously, Mr. Karros was an investment banker at Relational Advisors LLC where he advised clients on M&A and capital markets\u2019 financings and was an accountant at Arthur Andersen LLP.<\/p>\n

Mr. Karros currently serves as the Executive Chairman of H3C Technologies and previously served on the board of directors of both PMC-Sierra, Inc. and Innerworkings, Inc., where he was a member of the Compensation Committee for both companies. He earned his B.A. in Business Administration, summa cum laude, and Master of Science in Accounting from San Diego State University. Sri Kosaraju has served on our Board since August 2021. Since October 2020, Mr. Kosaraju has served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Inscripta, Inc., a privately-held digital genome engineering company. Prior to joining Inscripta, Mr. Kosaraju was President of Penumbra, Inc., which he joined as CFO in May 2015. Earlier, Mr. Kosaraju spent 16 years at J.P. Morgan, where he was most recently Head of Healthcare Equity Capital Markets and Co-Head of Technology Equity Capital Markets. While at J.P. Morgan, he worked closely with and advised many emerging, high-growth life science and tech companies. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for Inscripta, Mr. Kosaraju also currently serves on the Board of Directors and is the Chair of the Audit Committee of 10x Genomics, Inc., a life science technology company building products to interrogate, understand and master biology to advance human health, and is on the Board of the non-profit Testing for America. Shawn T McCormick has served on our Board since September 2014. From November 2020 to February 2022, Mr. McCormick served as Chief Financial Officer of Aldevron, a privately held company and global leader in the manufacture of plasmid DNA, mRNA and proteins. Aldevron was acquired by Danaher in August 2021. Mr. McCormick served as Chief Financial Officer of Tornier N.V., a public medical device company (\u201cTornier\u201d), from September 2012 to October 2015 when Tornier merged with Wright Medical Group. From April 2011 to February 2012, Mr. McCormick was Chief Operating Officer of Lutonix, Inc., a medical device company acquired by C. R. Bard, Inc. in December 2011. From January 2009 to July 2010, Mr. McCormick served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ev3 Inc., a public endovascular device company acquired by Covidien plc in July 2010. From 2002 to 2009, Mr. McCormick held various senior leadership positions at Medtronic Inc., including Vice President of Finance for Medtronic\u2019s Spinal, Biologics, and Navigation business, Vice President, Corporate Technology and New Ventures and Vice President, Corporate Development. Prior to that, Mr. McCormick held various other positions with Medtronic, including Corporate Development Director, Principal Corporate Development Associate, Manager, Financial Analysis, Senior Financial Analyst and Senior Auditor. Prior to joining Medtronic, he spent four years with the public accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick. Mr. McCormick has been a director of Inspire Medical Systems, Inc., a public medical technology company focused on minimally invasive solutions for patients with obstructive sleep apnea, since January 2017 and serves as chair of the audit committee. He was a director of SurModics, Inc., a public medical device and in vitro diagnostic technologies company, and served on the audit committee and corporate governance and nominating committee from December 2015 to December 2020. He was also a director of Entellus Medical, Inc., a public medical device company, and served as the chairman of the audit committee and as a member of the nominating and corporate governance committee from November 2014 to February 2018 when Entellus was sold to Stryker. Mr. McCormick earned his M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota\u2019s Carlson School of Management and his B.S. in Accounting from Arizona State University. Kevin O’Boyle has served on our Board since March 2019. Mr. O\u2019Boyle has over 20 years of executive management experience in the medical device industry. Mr. O\u2019Boyle currently serves as a director of GenMark Diagnostics, Inc. and Sientra, Inc. Previously, Mr. O\u2019Boyle served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Advanced Biohealing Inc. a medical device company, from December 2010 until it was acquired in July 2011. Mr. O\u2019Boyle served as CFO of NuVasive, Inc. from January 2003 until December 2009. Prior to that, Mr. O\u2019Boyle served in various leadership positions during his six years with ChromaVision Medical Systems, Inc. Mr. O\u2019Boyle received a B.S. in Accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology and completed the Executive Management Program at the University of California Los Angeles, John E. Karen Prange has served on our board since December 2019. Ms. Prange was most recently Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for the Global Animal Health, Medical and Dental Surgical Group at Henry Schein and a member of its Executive Committee. In this role, she led a business that generated over $6 billion of revenue across three different business units, growing the business to above-market levels in all business segments. Prior to her role at Henry Schein, she was Senior Vice President of Boston Scientific and President of its Urology and Pelvic Health business and served as General Manager of the Micrus Endovascular and Codman Neurovascular business at Johnson & Johnson Company. In addition to general management roles, Ms. Prange has extensive experience in commercial and operational roles, including managing innovation pipelines and acquiring and integrating companies. Ms. Prange currently serves on the boards of Atricure, ViewRay Inc. and WS Audiology. She also serves as Strategic Advisor to Nuvo Group Ltd. and Industrial Advisor to EQT Group. Sue Siegel has served on our board since December 2020. Previously, Ms. Siegel served as GE\u2019s Chief Innovation Officer, CEO of GE Ventures & Licensing, and CEO of Healthymagination. Before GE, she was a VC General Partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures, leading investments in Life Sciences & Health. During the early days of the human genome project, Ms. Siegel led Affymetrix from a pre-revenue start up to a multi-billion publicly-listed company that helped shape the emerging genomics industry. Ms. Siegel earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico \u2013 Mayaguez and her M.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University School of Medicine. Kevin Thornal was named CEO and President of Nevro in April of 2023. He will also be appointed to the Nevro Board of Directors. Mr. Thornal has over 20 years of senior management experience, including nearly nine years at Hologic, Inc., where he most recently served as Group President, Global Diagnostic Solutions, since April 2022. Under Kevin\u2019s leadership, this group of businesses delivered above-market revenue growth rates, achieving about $2.9 billion in worldwide diagnostics sales including the impact of COVID testing revenue. Mr. Thornal joined Hologic in 2014 as Vice President, Customer Experience, Field Service and Clinical Applications for the Breast and Skeletal Health division. He transitioned to Vice President, Breast and Skeletal Health for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region in early 2016, and was promoted to President, Medical Aesthetics in July 2017. In July 2019, he was promoted to President, Diagnostic Solutions where he led the division during the COVID-19 pandemic, rapidly launching three highly accurate molecular diagnostic COVID-19 tests in the fight against the global pandemic, and leading multiple acquisitions. Prior to Hologic, he held various roles of increasing responsibility at Stryker from 2004 to 2014 in sales, marketing, and business development. Mr. Thornal received a B.A. in History, with minors in English and Secondary Education, from Southern Methodist University.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

Bess Weatherman joined us in March 2019 and currently serves as a member of our Board. Ms. Weatherman has served as special limited partner of Warburg Pincus LLC, a leading global private equity firm, since 2016. Ms. Weatherman joined Warburg Pincus in 1988, became a partner in 1996 and served as a member of the Executive Management Group from 2001 to January 2016. She led the firm’s Healthcare Group from 2008 to January 2015. Ms. Weatherman currently serves as director of Insulet Corporation, Silk Road Medical, Inc., and Vapotherm, Inc.
